Wamba Wemba Aboriginal Corporation is excited to announce the launch of our Cultural Heritage Fieldworker Program. Through the guidance of our Gnerrick Gnerrick, this revised program strengthens our commitment to cultural heritage protection, community employment and safety on Country.

What’s New in the Program?

We’ve updated the program to ensure it is safer, more structured and better supported. Key changes include:

  • A formal Expression of Interest process to join the casual fieldworker pool
  • Strong focus on cultural responsibility
  • Clear expectations around availability, WHS compliance and training
  • Introduction of a new Fieldworker Induction and Training Program

(in person and on Country)

Work Health and Safety (WHS) and Training

All field workers will be required to adhere to strict WHS protocols. Wamba Wemba Aboriginal Corporation will provide training and support including:

  • A full days WHS induction and internal WHS training
  • First Aid certification
  • Medical clearance for strenuous fieldwork
  • All Personal Protective Equipment and vehicles required for fieldwork

Casual Employment Terms

Fieldworkers will be engaged as casual employees of Wamba Wemba Aboriginal Corporation. This includes:

  • 25% casual loading fee
  • 12% Superannuation employer contribution
  • Tax and payroll provided
  • No guarantee of ongoing work – work is offered based on availability, experience and

project needs
