Overview of Wamba Wemba Aboriginal Corporation
The Wamba Wemba Aboriginal Corporation (WWAC) is the Registered Aboriginal Party for Wamba Wemba Country. We are an Aboriginal Community Controlled Organisation committed to protecting cultural heritage, advancing self-determination and building prosperity for Wamba Wemba People. We work under the guidance of Gnerrick Gnerrick
(Elders), the Council of Gnerrick Gnerrick and board of strong Wamba Wemba women and men.
Job Purpose
The Finance Manager will provide leadership across all financial operations of WWAC, ensuring compliance, accountability and transparency in managing diverse government and commercial funding streams.
This is a role for a CPA (or equivalent) or an experienced finance leader with a proven track record in managing multi-source funding and delivering clear, reliable reporting.
The Manager will work closely with the CEO, Gnerrick Gnerrick, Community and key partners to ensure financial information is shared in ways that build trust and collective understanding.
Key Responsibilities
- Engage Gnerrick Gnerrick and the Council of Gnerrick Gnerrick in financial communication and feedback.
- Build understanding with Community by presenting clear and accessible finance information.
- Oversee all finance functions by coordinating with program managers on maintaining their budgeting, cashflow, invoicing and reporting responsibilities.
- Ensure accurate allocation and tracking of multiple government and commercial funding sources.
- Provide timely reports to the CEO, Deputy CEO, auditors and funders.
- Support organisational growth through strategic financial planning.
- Collaborate with the Manager for Economic Development to design financial models, prepare business cases and establish pathways for new commercial entities and joint ventures.
What We’re Looking For
- Someone with a love for Wamba Wemba culture, or a genuine willingness to engage with and learn more about Country and culture, alongside a commitment to the self-determination and prosperity of Wamba Wemba People.
- CPA or equivalent qualification, or minimum 5 years’ industry experience.
- Proven experience in financial reporting, audits and compliance.
- Strong stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to work respectfully with Gnerrick Gnerrick, Community, government and industry.
- Leadership experience, with the ability to mentor and develop a team.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to present complex ideas to different audiences.
